Privacy Policy
Updated September 20, 2026
This policy covers retainingwallcontractorsnearme.com, a retaining wall contractor directory and referral website. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean the team operating this website. Contractors listed here operate independently.
Information collected
When you request a quote or contact a business, we collect the details you provide, including your name, email, phone number, location and project description. Project requests can also include budget, timing, company and service requirements. We use these details to manage your request and connect you with suitable providers.
Business accounts, listing submissions and claims collect account and business contact details, listing content and information needed to assess the request. Reviews and uploaded listing information may be published. Newsletter subscriptions collect your email and audience preference. Advertising enquiries collect contact details and your message. Paid services use Stripe checkout; Stripe processes payment details under its own privacy policy.
Website use, cookies and attribution
The website uses Google Analytics and records page views, referring pages, listing interactions, advertising interactions and quote-form activity. Our internal event tracking derives a daily visitor identifier from the request IP address, browser information and date; the event record stores that identifier rather than the raw IP address. Hosting and other service providers may separately process connection information and logs.
Cookies and browser storage support account sessions, analytics and enquiry attribution. Submitted enquiries can include the landing page, referring site, campaign parameters, advertising click identifiers and an analytics identifier. Google Fonts and embedded maps or third-party media also connect your browser to their providers.
You can manage cookies and site storage in your browser and use Google's Analytics opt-out tool. Blocking storage may affect sign-in or other features. The website does not currently change its tracking in response to a browser Do Not Track signal. Third-party services may collect information across websites under their own policies.
Use and sharing
We use information to operate the directory, respond to enquiries, manage accounts and listings, arrange requested introductions, process paid services, understand website use and prevent misuse. Quote and contact requests are handled by the directory team and may be shared with the business you selected or suitable service providers so they can respond. Those providers handle the information they receive under their own privacy practices.
Service providers supporting hosting, database and account services, customer relationship management, payments and analytics process information for these functions. These include Netlify, Supabase, GoHighLevel, Stripe and Google. Information may be processed outside your state or country. We may also disclose information when required by law or to address fraud, security or legal claims.
Your choices and requests
For access, correction, deletion, an objection to a use of your information, or a request to stop contact or sharing, use the website enquiry form and start your message with “Privacy request”. This form is on our advertising page but reaches the directory team; you do not need to buy advertising to use it. Please provide enough detail to locate your record without sending sensitive documents unnecessarily. We may need to verify your identity. You can also update available account or listing details after signing in and ask a contractor directly about information already supplied to it.
Depending on your location and the law's applicability, you may have rights to know, access, correct or delete information, opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising, limit certain uses of sensitive information, appeal a decision, or use an authorized agent. You can submit these requests through the contact above. Applicable rights are not reduced by this policy, and exercising them will not result in unlawful discrimination.
Retention and security
Retention depends on the purpose and type of record, including active accounts, enquiries, transaction records, security logs and legal obligations. A deletion request may be subject to lawful retention requirements and backup cycles. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Do not submit payment-card details, government identifiers or other sensitive information in project descriptions.
Children and changes
This directory is intended for adults arranging services or managing business listings, not children under 13. Contact us if a child has supplied personal information. Policy changes will be posted here with an updated date; material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.
